DTC P0123
Issue Description
The P0123 DTC in Dodge vehicles indicates that the throttle/pedal position sensor "A" is producing a voltage signal that is too high, suggesting a malfunction in the sensor circuit.
Causes
- Faulty TPS.
- Short to power in the sensor wiring.
- Damaged or corroded TPS connector.
- Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Incorrectly installed aftermarket throttle body.
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light (CEL) is On.
- Engine may go into limp mode.
- Hesitation or rough acceleration.
- Poor throttle response.
Solutions
- Inspect and replace faulty TPS.
- Check sensor wiring for shorts or open circuits.
- Clean and secure TPS connector.
- Replace PCM if diagnostics confirm failure.
- Verify correct installation of throttle body parts.
- Clear code and conduct road test.
