Common Complaints and Reliability

• 1. Engine, Fuel System, and Fire:

  • Gasoline smell and engine stalling.
    
  • Return line to gas tank leaking, causing fire.
    
  • Vehicle suddenly catching fire under the hood while driving, with no warning.
    
  • Engine mount breaking, causing the engine to rock back and forth.
    
  • Coolant leaking into the vehicle due to failed welds between the heating core and hose, causing windows to fog.
    

• 2. Electrical System and Lighting:

  • Battery draining, preventing the vehicle from starting.
    
  • Headlight switch defective, getting extremely hot, smelling like hot electrical, and melting the plastic connector, causing parking and dash lights not to function.
    

• 3. Steering, Suspension, and Frame:

  • Rusted K-member, which mounts the lower control arm and steering rack and pinion.
    
  • Steering column loose due to loose bolts.
    
  • Power steering mounting bracket becoming loose.
    

• 4. Brakes:

  • Front brake caliper pins being bent, needing replacement.
