Common Complaints and Reliability

• 1. Fuel System Issues:

  • Fuel hose overheated and sprayed gas onto the engine, causing the engine to smoke.
    
  • Fuel regulator hose failed, causing an engine fire.
    
  • Fuel leaking in the carburetor, causing the vehicle to catch on fire.
    
  • Fuel injectors failed, causing the vehicle to stall without warning.
    

• 2. Transmission Issues:

  • Transmission lurches forward while engaging into gear.
    
  • Transmission slipping due to failure.
    
  • Transmission failed.
    

• 3. Seat Belts & Seat Issues:

  • Three out of five seat belt buckles have failed.
    
  • Driver side seat reclined to the rear of the vehicle and broke in a rear-end collision.
    
  • Back of driver's seat broke in a rear-ended accident.
    
  • Seat frame bolts were loose, causing the seat to wobble.
    
  • Driver side seat belt mechanism (DSM) has less movement and barely moves the shoulder belt anchor.
    

• 4. Electrical System Issues:

  • Electronic Control Module (ECM) failure.
    
  • Engine light stays on, and if not on, the car runs sluggish.
    
  • Horn removed because it caused fuses for the horn and airbag to blow out.
    

• 5. Suspension Issues:

  • Rear suspension failure; torsion bar has broken.
    

• 6. Tire Issues:

  • Loud noise and smoke from the back right tire, followed by the car swerving out of control and flipping; the back right tire was completely destroyed.
